Predefined Risk Assessment (PDRA)

This page provides information on how to apply Operational Authorisation based on a predefined risk assessment (PDRA)

How to apply operational authorisation based on a PDRA

For the application, the UAS operator must

  • Fill in the PDRA characterisation and conditions spreadsheet, including description on how the operator fulfils the requirements and conditions set for the operation
  • develop an operations manual (OM) with ConOps description according to instructions given behind the link below
  • Three (3) months prior to planned operations provide Traficom with
    • filled application for operational authorisation (link below)
    • filled PDRA description and conditions spreadsheet
    • operations manual (OM)

For those parts of the PDRA that require low (L) level of assurance, a declaration of compliance from the UAS operator is considered enough in most cases.

PDRA characterisation and conditions tables can be found on EASA's Easy Access material. A link to an excel spreadsheet below can also be used.

If the required level of assurance is medium (M), the UAS operator also has to provide supporting evidence on how it will fulfil the specific requirements.
